Mercedes-Benz Argentina presents the new EQA 350 4MATIC, the first 100% electric SUV of the brand to arrive in the country. This launch represents a historic event that will be marked as another milestone in the company’s trajectory. The vehicle is a compact SUV and has a close “kinship” with the GLA in terms of size and attributes.
Mercedes-Benz Argentina begins sales of the EQA, a premium compact SUV that reflects modern luxury and a new, more sustainable way of driving.
“The EQA is Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level SUV to the world of electric mobility, being the first Mercedes-Benz vehicle with exclusively electric propulsion. The EQA combines, with its characteristic design, total and emission-free everyday mobility with athletic performance and intuitive connectivity,” says Roberto Gasparetti, Managing Director Automobiles at Mercedes-Benz Argentina.
DESIGN
As for the design of the vehicle, the EQA is a model of similar proportions to its “sister” with combustion engine, the GLA, but with clear distinctive details of the electric models of the brand. The main highlight is the Black Panel grille, with the central star and the luminous band on the front.
Another element that reflects its sporty quality are the subtle longitudinal protrusions on the bonnet and the interior design of the headlights that corresponds exclusively to the electric models of the brand. It also has a horizontal optical fiber that joins the daytime running lights of the two LED headlights and the blue stripes. The LED taillights extend to the sides, and make up its appearance seen from back to back. These details make it possible to identify at first glance the EQA as a Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle.
INTERIOR
In its interior design, the Electric Art aesthetic package stands out, bringing details in rose gold in upholstery and air diffusers. There are numerous features and details that prove its status as an electric vehicle, such as the display with menus on charging options, electricity consumption and energy flow. It has backlit moldings, rose gold air diffusers and exclusive upholstery and specific vehicle key. Menus with charging options, power consumption and energy flow can be accessed via the media viewer.
MOTORIZATION AND BATTERY
The EQA has two engines that allow it to develop a power of 292 hp and a permanent 4MATIC all-wheel drive. To this is added a variety of equipment in terms of driving assistance. The EQA achieves an acceleration of 0-100 in 6 seconds.
The EQA is a vehicle with 0 CO2 emissions. Its heart is a powerful lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 66.5kw. The dynamic configuration of its body offers driving pleasure. Its declared autonomy of approximately 400 km (WLTP), enough to be able to give daily use to the vehicle. In any case, the autonomy can have a great variation, according to the way of handling and the climatic conditions.
As far as charging the EQA is concerned, Mercedes-Benz includes (in its price) a domestic cable and a Wallbox. The Wallbox must be installed at the consumer’s home by specialized technicians.
Ways to charge the EQA battery
With the home and portable charger, which allows charging the EQA in any outlet with a power of 1.8kw.
With the Wallbox. It is a non-portable charger that allows charging at 11kw of power. With the Wallbox, charging the battery would take approximately 6 hours.
With DC fast chargers. These types of chargers are installed in service stations. In this case, the powers vary between 50kw and 100kw. Full battery charging would be achieved within 30 to 60 minutes.
EQUIPMENT AND SAFETY
The EQA is very well equipped in both active and passive safety. And, like all Mercedes-Benz, it offers great safety for its occupants in terms of airbags, with a total of 7:

In electric vehicles, aerodynamics are a key aspect. The EQA is the first Mercedes-Benz model to develop exclusively digital tools for aerodynamic refinement. Its cx coefficient is 0.28 thanks to its fully closed grille in the upper section, the aerodynamic design of the front apron and rear apron; and optimized aerodynamic tires.
